Co-founder of HELLO / GOODBUY - The newly founded no-nonense, straight-talking student
collective of AMFI (the Amsterdam Fashion Institute).

A collective of fashion students who are fed up with fashion and ready for change. As former
fashion swallowers, we are coming to terms with our own fashion addiction, in hopes of being a
resource to others, seeking to become conscious fashion consumers.

As education is key in shaping the future of fashion, we find it important to stress the importance
of integrating sustainability in the curriculum. Therefor we participate in events such as Beyond Green and organized workshops during IFFTI, a three day conference for international fashion universities.

How to guide such a process?”, AMFI student and Hello-Goodbuy activist, Karlijne Opmeer explained. "

addicts out there.
It's time that WE get our shit together."

ARTICLE AMSTERDAM FASHION WEEK

NOVEMBER '16 - "When asked why she thought 'sustainability' was such a terrible world, co-founder Karlijne Opmeer said, "I'd like the word 'sustainability' to become the norm, so that we don't have to use the word at all because it's a part of our everyday lives (...)"

     CLOSET MASS INDEX - QUOTES:

  • "131 pieces is a lot, and still I have the feeling I need more or don't have anything to
wear. And I was very much shocked by how much I didn't remember I had or hadn't worn in a while.” – Mauranne
  • "I get overwhelmed if I see that a nice dress or whatever garment does not cost a lot. But I’m trying to get over it.” - Emilija
  • "My weakness in shopping? Black shirts, even though I strongly believe that one can never have enough black shirts, maybe 40 pieces is a bit exaggerated.." - Karlijne
  • "The weirdest thing I found in my wardrobe? A leopard print body suit!" - Jade
  • "What surprised me the most after filling in the CMI was how many waistcoats I own. When it needs it's own column in the excel sheet, you know you have a problem." - Gwen
  • "The best thing about having not grown since I was 15 years old, is that I've never had
to get rid of clothes that no longer fit. And when the late 90's/early 00's come back in style, I'll be ready" - Travis
  • "My weakness in shopping? Coats and underwear... Do I really need 20 panties and 10 coats? and no, they are not different, mostly all black." - Giedre
  • "I end up wearing my two vintage Levi’s almost everyday, so in fact, there’s no reason for the other 20 pairs of trousers in my closet." - Fanny
